BAROSSA ANGLICANS
Welcome To Barossa Anglicans
Barossa Anglicans is a community of people gathering to worship, grow in faith and support one another across five Anglican churches in Angaston, Lyndoch, Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Williamstown.
We value hospitality, friendship and genuine connection, and you'll find people from different backgrounds and stages of life within our church community. Whether you have been part of a church for many years, are returning after some time away, or are simply curious about Christian faith, you are welcome to join us.
Our Sunday services are held across at least three of our churches each week, with a variety of service times and styles. We also gather in people's homes, residential care facilities and other community settings because we believe being a church is about more than what happens inside a church building.
A Community of Faith
Barossa Anglicans is part of the Anglican Church and follows the Anglican and Reformed Christian tradition. Our faith is centred on knowing and following Jesus Christ, with the Bible, prayer and Holy Communion at the heart of our worship and Christian life.
Our beliefs are grounded in the historic Anglican tradition, including the 39 Articles of Religion and the principles and theology of the Book of Common Prayer. At the same time, our worship includes a mix of contemporary and traditional styles, with services and gatherings taking place on Sundays and throughout the week.
We also value our relationships with other Christian churches in the Barossa and take part in interdenominational worship and regional prayer events. Where we can, we support other congregations and Christian communities, reflecting our belief that faith is strengthened when we work and worship together.
Growing in Faith Together
Faith isn't something we believe should be limited to Sunday mornings. Throughout the week there are opportunities to pray, study the Bible, meet others and explore Christian faith in a relaxed and supportive environment.
On Thursday mornings, members of our community gather to explore the 24-7 Prayer movement, and we are developing a range of prayer resources within a dedicated prayer space at St Aidan's Anglican Church in Tanunda.
During Lent and Advent, we also come together for Bible studies and other themed gatherings that provide opportunities to learn, ask questions and deepen our understanding of faith.
Part of the Barossa Community
Our five churches have long been part of the communities they serve, and we want them to continue to be places where people can find welcome, friendship, support and a sense of belonging.
Our ministry extends beyond regular church services. We gather in homes, visit and worship with people in residential care, participate in community activities and respond to needs within our local towns.
At the heart of all of this is a simple desire: to know Jesus Christ, grow in faith together and share God's love with the communities around us.
Come and Meet Us
You don't need to know what to do, what to say or have everything figured out before coming to church. If you're interested in finding out more about Christianity, looking for a church community in the Barossa Valley, or simply wondering what one of our services is like, we'd love to welcome you.
With churches in Angaston, Lyndoch, Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Williamstown, there's likely to be a Barossa Anglicans congregation near you.
